Please reach us at perarduamas@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Pet puppies are $2,200 and this price does not vary depending on colour or gender.
Nope. I can guarantee that you’ll get the best possible matched puppy for your interests and family. I will say that it could be the colour, gender, temperament and activity level that you’re looking for, but I assess puppies at 7-8 weeks for my needs first. Then remaining puppies are made available as pets in an order of application basis, where I will consider colour and sex as part of the placement along with your preferred temperament and
activity level. With this number of variables, you must understand designing your perfect dog isn’t part of my program. If you would prefer to wait, your reservation deposit can be moved to another litter plan.
Note: This reservation move will only be done once, a further reservation deposit contract will need to be completed and paid for to move/wait again.
The very first step is to let me know a bit about you by completing the Puppy Application. This doesn’t marry you to sending a deposit or getting a puppy but it opens a dialogue between you and I so we can get to know each other.
I will contact you to set up a time to either have a phone conversation or Facetime. I can show you where Mom and puppies will stay in our home and address any questions in real and honest time.
From there, if you are approved to reserve a puppy from an upcoming litter, I will forward a Reservation Deposit Contract ($50/non-refundable). This guarantees a reservation for a puppy for a particular litter. Once pregnancy is confirmed, and you confirm you’re still interested in a puppy, a formal “Deposit Contract” will be forwarded, and an additional percentage of the puppy fee will be required within a week of pregnancy confirmation.
Once puppies are born and an available pup is confirmed (this means enough were born for the number of reservations, does not guarantee anything beyond that such as colour or gender), follow our website and social media accounts for updates. A Puppy Social will be organized for puppy families at six (6) weeks.
No. Whether littermates or a puppy from each litter, if I happen to have two breedings planned close together, we will not entertain this for anyone. Please read this article about "Littermate Syndrome". Should you wish to reserve a puppy from a litter planned a year or two out from when your puppy is born, that’s entirely ok.
A Puppy Social is a gathering in our home where you and your families can interact with all the puppies (I’d say and us but seriously…..PUPPIES!) We get it. Bring your kids and your cameras. It’s a wonderful chance to see how the puppies’ personalities are beginning to show in larger groups of people, maybe we’ll see the beginnings of bonds being made and it helps me assess which pup would be best placed with which family. If you live a distance away or are unable to make it, we are happy to attempt to Facetime with you as well.
If you have been approved and a particular reservation list is full I will place you on a waitlist until the pups are born. If the litter happens to be larger than the number of reservations, I will contact those on the waitlist in order I received the original request. Alternatively, you can opt to reserve a pup from another planned breeding.
If the litter has a small number of pups, reservations will be kept in the order they were originally received, those lower on the list but still interested in a puppy, will have the option to move to the next planned litter but will not override the order of reservation that may already exist for the next planned litter.
Honestly, social media will be the fastest way to get your updates, but I’ll be sure to send an email when my female begins her cycle to ensure interest remains for the litter – it is imperative that you confirm your interest within a few days after receiving this email.
Updates will be made to my various platforms once breeding has occurred and the actual pregnancy confirmed. In most cases I will opt for x-rays to confirm approximate numbers, and to be sure everything looks good.
The non-breeding sales contract requires your puppy to be spayed or neutered by 12 months old, but not before 8 months of age. Thus, allowing growth plates to close, for the benefit of the dog. Delaying the spay or neuter by a few months for a medium sized breed of dog is explained well here.
In our contract we do reference the need for two classes prior to the dog reaching twelve (12) months of age. Why? Well, that’s because it’s just as much for the family as it is the dog. Behavioural issues due to lack of training and socialization that could start to surface are not temperament issues and I am not responsible for those. This will help to ensure your new best friend has the best chance at being the best canine citizen he/she can be. A kindergarten class followed by an obedience class is the best start for you and your new friend. We would also recommend, where possible/appropriate, that kids take part in the training, helping to cement the bond with the dog and its family while under the tutelage of a knowledgeable trainer.
